Another part of the national health care bill includes putting calories on the menu at more than 200,000 restaurants.
At Bigbby Coffee on Superior Street across from the Lucas County Arena customers can already check calories online, but soon the amount of calories in each item will be available for all customers to see inside.
That’s because according to the new law, any restaurant or fast food chain with more than 20
locations will have to include nutrition facts on menus, menu boards and even drive thrus.
The new law will apply at Bigbby’s coffee shop. Store employees believe it won’t turn customers away, though. This law will help them keep track of what they eat or drink, and it could also help prevent future health problems.
