@pleaseinsertacoin using an iPad as a waiters tool would be non-sensical ’cause his arm would fall of by the end of the shift … also there’d be the problem of where to put it when he’s carriing a tray … there are ligther, smaller, more reliable tools than the iPad for this atm.

Too complicated. The only improvement this really offers is the ability to see a photo of the food.. otherwise it’s a clunkier interface than the current system. No one wants to fill out a form to order food, personal interaction is part of going out and eating.

Great idea! I thought of this use when the iPad was announced. I then did a little patent search and found that IBM holds a pretty comprehensive patent covering the use of wireless restaurant ordering in the USA. Bummed me out. Note that this video is from Australia.
