What would be the healthiest menu choice at this Italian restaurant?

Hello, got a bit of a problem. Going to Ask Italian restaurant next Saturday and want to choose the healthiest and lowest calorie option but due to the menu changes I am unsure what would be best. Could anyone please enlighten me about the approximate calories of the following and which would be the best choices? Thanks.

* Linguine alla vongole – Ribbons of pasta cooked with shell-on clams, garlic, white wine, chilli, red onion and Santos tomatoes, in this traditional Italian recipe. Lemon juice and zest give a final twist to a spicy dish.

* Linguine gamberi e Rucola – King prawns sautéed in olive oil, in a garlic, tomato and white wine sauce with rocket and oven-roasted tomatoes.

* Spaghetti al pomodo – Rich tomato sauce prepared to let its ingredients shine. Garlic, fresh basil and Santos tomatoes, with torn buffalo mozzarella and a final drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.

* Salmone Rustico – A fillet of Scottish salmon roasted with a sauce of cherry tomatoes, red onion, black olives and white wine. Served with sautéed garlic green beans, roasted new Charlotte potatoes and drizzled with pesto.

All those are quite healthy. If you don’t eat much fish then go for the salmon for lots of Omega-3

Basically in an Italian the things you need to avoid is anything made with cream and anything cooked with loads of cheese.

Pizzas are a no no as is garlic bread.

Pasta itself isn’t too high in calories, its what you add to it that causes the damage.

Its difficult to give a calorie count on those foods, because you don’t know how much oil etc was used in making them.

I would say the linguine is your best bet, although nothing is going to be really diet friendly! :-)

Alternatively you could just ‘sod the diet’ and go for it :-)
