our family is going to charlies seafood(in harahan Louisiana) for the first time today and i was just wondering what you would rate the restaurant from 1-10? food? environment? menu? recommendations?

I thought it was really good and i don’t like seafood that much…they had a good variety and the waiters and waitresses were nice. I would go if i were you

I can’t remember the name of this restaurant! It was inside a hotel, and it was across the street from Golden Corral. I can’t even remember the street it was on, although I know it was NOT international Drive, but it WAS relatively close to it. I went down the street a ways and there was a Race Track gas station on the left side. The inside was set up with mainly booths and they had a decent sized buffet for like 28.95, but you could order off the menu. The word "crab" is in the title but I don’t think it was Joe’s crab shack but I could be wrong. I do remember the server giving me a small, metal pale for my crab shells.

Sounds like The Crab House on International Drive. There’s a Golden Corral very close.

What happens to the slow learners at Sea World? Do some of them appear on menus at local seafood restaurants?

None in that region that I know of have the Seafood Sensation menu item available. in PA ( Pittsburgh PA ) What you saw was simply a tv commercial or on cable which is broadcast nationwide.
The Seafood Sensation again is not available in your vicinity.

Honestly i really cant stand picky eaters. If you went to a steakhouse that specializes in steak, then why would you order fish? People like this have no class.Yeah its on the menu, but only because they needed more items. Its just weird.If you don’t like fish, then why wouldn’t your party consider a different restaurant? Anyone agree?
If you were allergic to seafood wouldn’t you stay far away from a seafood restaurant?…idiots

I mean besides Red Lobster, every seafood restaurant I’ve been to in the past year has yet to have snow crab legs on the menu. They have practically every other seafood except that. Is there a shortage going on or are they just not popular?

right now, they are very expensive. most restaurants realize most people aren’t going to pay 30 bux a pound for snow crab, when they can get dungeoness or king for 15.

My friends want to meet for lunch after years and they decided to meet at a Chinese seafood restaurant. I am the only vegan person among the large group. I am concerned because the last time I was at another Chinese seafood restaurant even plain steamed rice smelled like fish and I was offered a "veggie" dish that had chunks of meat or chicken removed, which I declined, but I was still sick even after eating the plain rice for a few days – so there must have been something "secret" added to it, and I do not want to be sick again. I did not see any clearly labeled vegan or even vegetarian dishes on the online menu of the restaurant we are to meet at.

So – are there any vegan Chinese dishes? Thank you for your help!

I have several Chinese friends and was in various local, small restaurants with them in the past – as a vegetarian – and on several occasions I was at the buffet and was asking for vegetarian dish, telling the server I do not eat meat, and that’s exactly what they did – they told me I can just eat veggies from the "meat and veggie" or "chicken and veggie" dish, and leave the chunks of meat out. I do not know whether my Chinese friends chose restaurants where servers were totally ignorant about anything vegetarian, not mentioning vegan, but after a few times like this, and after eating rice tasting like fish, I did not want to go to other Chinese restaurants.

While I am aware that Chinese have great veggie dishes, great natural medicine, etc., my problem is that the employees at Chinese restaurants I went to in Southern California seem to be totally ignorant as to what is vegetarian, not mentioning vegan. I remember once a server pointing out a veggie dish for me on the men
on the menu, and the description read that it was veggies based on a chicken broth or something. I do not have problems with $$$$$ restaurants – they always have vegan dishes – but the small family restaurants have employees that totally do not understand what vegetarians or vegans eat/do not eat.
And this applies to most small restaurants. However, in many restaurants I can just get a tossed green salad with no dressing – and this is not an option at a Chinese seafood restaurant.

I’m sure vegan Chinese dishes exist, but there’s no way for me to tell you if they’ll appear on your local restaurant’s menu.

Look at it this way. Are these friends of yours close to you? If yes, I’m sure they’ll understand that you (a vegan) won’t be able to eat much there. Maybe they’d even offer to choose somewhere else if you spoke up? If that’s not an option, just eat something beforehand and if you DO spot something small and vegan on the menu, order that — otherwise stick to beverages.

And if they’re not very good friends in the first place, just skip it altogether.

I am opening a country style family all you can eat buffet and off the menu per order steak, fish and seafood restaurant on the shores of beautiful grand lake in oklahoma, it will be casual dining. and wine by glass, beer by bottle. i need name ideas, already have some, just need a list to check off…. i already have…"Beef and Bobbers" "3d steak and seafood" ( D is the first letter in my and my two children’s name)… any suggestions will help
