I’m deciding to go vegetarian (I just graduated with a degree in environmental biology and I took a lot of environmental national/international law and I’ve decided it’s the best decision for me personally–I still love meat eaters all the same) and I need food ideas! I’ve been vegetarian for about a month now and I’m getting bored, so I need some help making it a normal part of my life.
It’s important to me to eat healthy and still be able to go out to eat with friends while eating a vegetarian diet, eventually leading to a vegan diet. Please help me!

-What’s the standard vegetarian grocery list?
-What are your favorite vegetarian dishes?
-What restaurants have good vegetarian options and what are your favorites?

What’s the standard vegetarian grocery list?
the usual vegetables, couscous, pitta bread, falafels, bagels, cheese (but not if you’re vegan), pasta, vegetable stock, rice, noodles, beans, lentils and other pulses, houmous, soya milk, porridge oats

lentil soup, spinach soup, pizza, pasta with cheese sauce, pitta bread, falafels and houmous, couscous with a courgette sauce, yummy veggie lasagna, mexican tortillas with vegetable sauce and cheese
-What restaurants have good vegetarian options and what are your favorites? salad with lettuce, tomatoes and fresh spinach
i don’t know where you live, but i find indian and italian restaurants always have a good variety of veggie food
-What are your favorite easy-to-cook recipes?
pasta, pasta and more pasta with lots of different simple sauces, usually involving tomatoes, also grilled bagels with cheese, pitta again and salads, the easiest thing in the world to experiment with – try bean salads! or you can make a vat of soup and freeze some for later
-What are your favorite snacks?
pumpkin/sunflower seeds, brazil nuts (coated in chocolate if you like), rice milk, ryvita or any kind of crackers
hope this helps, don’t give up hope and try getting a good veggie cookbook! there are actually so many dishes out there and veggie food is often the most exciting! don’t be afraid to experiment

I am 18 and from the area, but I dont typically go to any of the more upscale restaurants because its a little out of my price range. But would like to take my girlfriend somewhere nice. Preferrably with a variety of a menu so there are options, but not so upscale that we feel out of place. Anywhere from Ogunquit to Portsmouth is a good location. Thankyou

My first date was in Portsmouth. We went to "Melville Grille". It is a beautiful, and classy restaurant, that has good food and good service. The patio view is amazing, and though the restaurant has a high rating, it is usually not that packed.

Restaurant is Casual Upscale. It is in a 100 year old Cathedral. The architecture is Victorian/Gothic. The menu is a fusion of italian, spanish, french, creole. I’m stumbled as there are many restaurants in the area with original names. I want the name to relate to the building and/or type of cuisine, but everything I think of has already been chosen or too close.

Well, if it’s in a church, and the food is Italian, Spanish, French or Creole, then how about La Chiesa, La Iglesia, L’Eglise or Legliz?

Personally, I’d vote for "Legliz" because it means The Church in Creole and, well, it’s the most exotic sounding of them all.

Best Restaurant in Metro Atlanta to hold birthday party?

I need to find a restaurant that has private rooms or semi-private rooms for my 19th Birthday Party. I have about 50 people coming. I don’t want one that has preset menus. I was wanting one that my guests can order what they want. I was thinking about Golden Corral but then I wanted a bit more casual.

Golden Corral is as casual a restaurant as they come! I’d think you’d want something more festive, that offers a bit more privacy.

With the economy as sluggish as it is, I think many restaurants are hurting, and would welcome a party — particularly restaurants that have cordoned off areas.

I can’t think of places directly in town — other than Paschal’s which has a private room off to the side. It’s moderately priced, very pretty and the food — if you like Southern food — is really good.

In Roswell you could consider Relish, Fickle Pickle or Thai House. In Marietta, Spudz is a great place for a private party. You could also rent a room in the Mountain View Community Center for very little money and bring in the food yourself.

Hmm….QUESTION STEALER! That’s okay, i guess I just got your mind going wild.
So garlic fries….god that sounds so good…I never had garlic fries. So that’s what you crave at night…when your ravenous for naughty food and you would give in to you most powerful urges to indulge. I can just imagine the way the fried french frie absorbs the garlic juice…and gets all soaked in there…all yummy and dripping garlic butter off the tip..hanging in front of your gaping mouth …then…mmmmm…you greedily engulf it in your watering mouth, savoring the taste..Yummmm
It would be sooo good you would never be able to resist it..not i a KAJILLION years…you wouldn’t care about the MASSIVE garlic breath it would give you, and the fact that no boy would want to kiss you after. Unless….of course, he had a passion for garlic fries too! Then you could have garlic fries AND play tongue hockey all night long! Oh, isn’t that such a great feeling when you meet someone who is INTO the same things YOU are? And imagine if you not only shared the same passions, but was also attracted to them in other ways, and they were so easy to hang out with..you just "fit" together. Imagine all the happenis that would fill you with.
