    The only jewelry …
The only jewelry chefs are allowed to wear in the kitchen is a wedding ring, which is what he is wearing, and it’s not uncommon for chefs to wear their wedding rings while working. But I agree that he shouldn’t be wearing that watch or bracelet.

  19. Yes I agree with …
Yes I agree with your comments about the chef not wearing gloves. I am sure most people dont wear gloves at home. But after reading a comment from another viewer, I am concerned about the ring and the watch. If you wash haands with a ring on you have to spend more time making sure you wash under the ring and even so, it would probably stay moist underneath – great for bacteria.
And about the salad, very simple. I though he might have shown off a little with something more creative.

    Bacteria is …
Bacteria is EVERYWHERE. Even on gloves. So washing your hands properly really isn’t much different than wearing gloves. I’m assuming you don’t watch cooking shows. They don’t wear gloves on those either.

Gloves are a waste because you’d have to keep switching them if you’re working with meat, fish, etc because of cross-contamination. So to spare the environment, most chefs don’t wear gloves and instead just wash often & thoroughly.

    Most chefs don’t …
Most chefs don’t wear gloves and just wash their hands often instead. I think it depends on the restaurant’s rules and personal preference.
